Als distributienetbeheerder ondervindt Infrax hier rechtstreeks de impact van. En dat vraagt ook intern om efficiënter werken. Een behoefte waar EPLAN mee in betrokken werd.  ### **Meer tijd voor conceptuele engineering** Tijd, geld en moeite besparen, dat is de uitdaging waarmee de afdeling Engineering Primaire Systemen te maken kreeg. Deze afdeling verloor te veel tijd aan het ontwerp. Dat kwam doordat er te veel repeterend werk moest gedaan worden, waardoor dikwijls dezelfde fouten terugkwamen. Daarom was het voor Infrax erg belangrijk om meer tijd maken voor conceptuele engineering. In dat kader werd als eerste stap de artikeldatabase gestandaardiseerd. Een goede artikelbase die veel en correcte informatie bevat is de basis van alles. De volgende stap bestond uit het modulariseren van de installaties via macro’s. Een consequente modularisering zorgt voor duidelijke structuren. Met modulaire opgebouwde varianten is Infrax vandaag de dag in staat om componenten en installaties gemakkelijk te beheren en te hergebruiken. ### **Integratie van EPLAN Engineering Configuration One** De uiteindelijke stap bestond erin om de engineeringsworkflow te optimaliseren door de integratie van EEC One (EPLAN Engineering Configuration). EPLAN begeleidde Infrax van manuele naar geautomatiseerde engineering, om sneller en efficiënter schema’s te genereren. Zo slaagde Infrax samen met EPLAN erin om ook het werk van zijn engineers aantrekkelijker te maken en overbodig repetitief werk te laten verdwijnen. Op verschillende plekken lastminute wijzigingen doorvoeren behoort nu tot het verleden. Dit heeft voor Infrax een duidelijke tijdswinst opgeleverd. ### **Verdere standaardisatie** De integratie van EEC One was geen eindstation voor Infrax. Het bedrijf blijft voortdurend streven naar kwaliteit en is niet alleen het resultaat van één gebruiker, maar moet een standaard worden binnen de afdeling Engineering Primaire Systemen. Door samen te werken met de experts van EPLAN hoopt Infrax in de toekomst in staat te zijn om de specifieke ontwerpmethoden te analyseren, evalueren, definiëren en implementeren. Zo wil het netbedrijf de engineeringswerkzaamheden en de ontwerptijd voor een project nog meer reduceren.
